Coaching

What makes our Executive Coaching unique?

Our coaching is rooted in Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology is the branch of psychology dedicated to exploring what it is that optimises human functioning at a physical, mental and emotional level. In other words it is the study of what those who perform exceptionally - the top 1% - do that enables them to consistently outperform others.

By knowing what creates exceptional performance and human flourishing, we can replicate those ingredients in order to optimise performance, resilience, focus, mindset, health, wellbeing, and much more.

Our Executive Coaching leverages the strengths of individual leaders and the organisations they lead and challenges them to go to the next level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Executive Coaching is a non-directive form of personal development in which a coach and a coachee work together to facilitate optimal performance, meaning and balance for the coachee in their professional and personal spheres. It is about setting and reaching goals, but also about learning, transformation and growth through personal development. It is not about being told what to do, but about being helped to figure out what to do by being supported and challenged through highly skilled questioning.

Executive coaching is not about looking for the easy answers, but about pushing to find the best answers. A coach will provide accountability to ensure that the coachee is taking actions that move them closer to their goals.

What kind of issues can a coach help with?

Executive Coaching may focus on a wide variety of issues including:

  • Development of Leadership skills - self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Being productive and effectively managing time.
  • Stopping self-sabotaging behaviours.
  • Leading and managing change and conflict.
  • Communication, influencing and presenting skills.
  • Overcoming imposter syndrome and developing gravitas and confidence.
  • Delegation and collaboration skills.
  • Working out work / life boundaries.
  • Making key decisions and thinking through dilemmas.
  • Any many more...
Who is coaching suitable for?

A wide variety of people can benefit from Executive Coaching, from new leaders seeking to build the skills and confidence as they progress in their careers to experienced C-suite executives seeking support with specific issues or dilemmas they wish to work through. We even work with clients at the point of retirement on succession planning and transitioning into retirement.

Common to all of these groups is the fact that these individuals need to be committed to working hard, being honest, taking action between sessions and being prepared to change as a consequence of the coaching. A coach will not tell you what to do, they will support you in answering that question for yourself.

How do I know if I am a good fit with a coach?

A coaching relationship works best when there is a high level of trust and connection between the coach and the coachee. In order to establish whether you will be a good fit with one of our coaches, they all offer a chemistry meeting which allows parties to get to know each other and make a decision on whether you wish to work together.

A chemistry meeting typically lasts around 30 - 40 minutes, and allow you to ask questions and for both parties to get to know each other and discuss how they see the coaching relationship working. At the end of the chemistry meeting, you will both decide whether or not to progress into contracting.

What qualifications / accreditations do your coaches have?

Coaching is completely unregulated, so technically anyone can set themselves up as an Executive Coach with no prior training or experience. Whether these coaches are effective is largely going to be down to luck. We don't believe that coaching success should be down to luck, so we only work with associates who have both professional experience as leaders or HR professionals, appropriate qualifications and accreditation. We require all our coaches to have a supervisor and to maintain a standard of professional development.

Our coaches have or are working towards either the Level 7 certificate or diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring from the Institute of Leadership and Management, and accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council as Senior Practitioners. This provides assurance, we only work with the very best coaches.

How much does Executive Coaching cost?

The cost of coaching generally varies enormously depending on the type of coaching, the type of client that is being supported, the experience and qualifications of the coach. Coaching is completely unregulated, so technically anyone can set themselves up as an Executive Coach with no prior training or experience. Whether these coaches are effective is largely going to be down to luck.

A properly qualified and experienced Executive Coach will typically be charging in the region of at least £300 - £500 per hour per coaching session. This price should include preparation for sessions, appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance, the coaching session, the production of notes following the session, professional supervision from an experienced supervisor, accreditation by one of the professional coaching organisations, and any debrief sessions with an organisational sponsor.

Some coaching companies choose not to publish their costs and only disclose these at the first session or chemistry meeting. We believe relationships are built on trust and transparency, so our typical rates are:

90 minute coaching sessions

3 x 90 minute coaching sessions - £1,375

6 x 90 minute coaching sessions - £2,700

9 x 90 minute coaching sessions - £3,675

For packages for organisations which involve multiple coachees, we can tailor a package to meet your specific needs. We also offer discounts for registered charities and public sector clients.
